Bill Sheehan

Bill is the Global Head of Association Strategy at D2L, leading efforts to transform how associations deliver personalized, flexible, and modern learning experiences. With over 30 years of executive experience across associations and service companies, Bill has held leadership roles at organizations like the National Confectioners Association, NALP, and the Electronic Retailing Association, as well as Multiview, Naylor, and SmithBucklin.

He specializes in programs that boost brand awareness, enhance member engagement, and unlock non-dues revenue through strategic sponsorship and education initiatives. An active member of ASAE, Bill is a former Chair of the Industry Partner Alliance and currently serves on the Power of Association Oversight Committee.

Bruce Rosenthal

Bruce Rosenthal is a corporate sponsorship strategist who helps associations create transformational corporate sponsorship and partnership programs that drive revenue, enhance member value, elevate brand visibility, support mission fulfillment, and ensure financial sustainability. As Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for a national association, he led a major shift from transactional to strategic. Since 2016, Bruce has consulted with associations to develop corporate sponsorship and partnership initiatives by conducting program evaluations, competitive analyses, package development and pricing, prospecting, implementation, and training. He is the author of Mastering Association Corporate Sponsorships: How to Create Strategic Partnerships that Add Revenue and Member Value.

Cathy Cummings

Cathy is the CEO of the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations. Her past includes roles at the Canadian Payroll Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association. Cathy has also volunteered extensively with United Way, the Canadian Society of Association Executives and many charities including ALS Ontario, ALS Canada, and Ceridian Cares. She holds an MBA from Athabasca University and is a Certified Association Executive, CAE. On a personal note, Cathy loves to travel and has been to 42 countries so far and truly loves a good small world story!

Christine Nogal, MBA, CAE is the Chief Operations and Business Development Officer at the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and the Executive Director of the Biologic Association (BA). She specializes in identifying, building, and scaling non-dues revenue opportunities, whether that means launching new products or turning overlooked assets into top performers. With a sharp eye for member value, market demand and scalable growth, Christine bridges strategy and execution, proving that non-dues revenue doesn’t require gimmicks, just clarity, courage and a willingness to rethink what’s “always been done.” She is known for asking hard questions, challenging legacy models, and building solutions that drive both relevance and results.

Jared Burkhart serves as CEO of Big I Michigan, the state’s largest association for independent insurance agents. In this role, Jared leads efforts to strengthen Michigan’s independent agency system by championing collaboration, sharing best practices, and delivering resources that help agents thrive. His professional mission is to empower others to excel in their chosen fields.

 Before joining Big I Michigan, Jared held executive leadership positions with the Michigan Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Michigan Council of Charter School Authorizers. He earned a B.S. from Central Michigan University and an M.B.A. from Michigan State University. Jared resides in Mason, Michigan, and is passionate about advancing the insurance industry and supporting community growth.

John Bacon, MBA

John Bacon is a dynamic and business-focused management professional, offering more than 15 years of extensive experience and expertise in leading profit-generating operations for professional and trade associations. John has worked with hundreds of associations, helping them maximize the overall profitability of their member communications, while ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction. He is currently the VP, Enterprise Sales at ASAE where he works with a team to expand, energize and optimize the performance of ASAE’s enterprise-wide sales portfolio, which includes the Alliance Partner Program, advertising and sponsored content, exhibits, digital products and sponsorships. John has an MBA as well as a BA in business administration and management.

Jim specializes in developing strategies for transformative growth through expert facilitation, product strategy, learning communities, and storytelling. Prior to starting the product community, he served as senior vice president for education and chief learning officer at the American College of Chest Physicians and chief learning officer at the Society of College and University Planning. 

Michelle Crispino, CAE, DES

Michelle Crispino is Senior Director of Knowledge Initiatives at the American Society for Nutrition (ASN). With more than 20 years of association management experience, her work focuses on developing and expanding education and professional development programs while fostering strong member engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and organizational effectiveness. In addition to leading educational initiatives, Michelle has extensive expertise in conference strategy and logistics, compliance with continuing education accreditation standards through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and event technology. Michelle is passionate about advancing the mission of science- and health-focused associations and maximizing their impact through strategic program development and operational excellence. She is certified as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE and a Digital Event Strategist (DES) from PCMA. She resides in Germantown, Maryland with her husband and daughter.

Richard Comstock

Richard Comstock is the VP of Sales at Higher Logic, where he helps organizations bring people together, spark meaningful conversations, and drive stronger engagement through community and marketing solutions. With more than two decades of experience in the association technology space, Richard has built a career at the intersection of strategy, sales, and customer success.
Prior to Higher Logic, Richard held leadership roles at Association Analytics and Impexium (now re:Members AMS), where he worked closely with associations to unlock the value of their data, technology, and member experiences. He has also led professional services, sales engineering, and partner programs at Avectra (now Momentive Software), giving him a well-rounded perspective on the full customer lifecycle – from implementation to long-term growth.
Richard is known for his practical, relationship-driven approach and his passion for helping associations think differently about engagement, revenue, and digital transformation. He began his career serving in the United States Marine Corps.
